‘IT’ is about a life-form that has the ability to change itself in to its prey’s worst nightmare, the film made one its main protagonists “pennywise the dancing clown” very popular amongst horror fans. A group of children known as ‘The Losers Club’ discover pennywise and vow to kill him.

Scream has influenced pop culture is so many ways since its release 17 years ago. The Ghostface masks, the voice changer, everything about the film sent audiences mad, so much so that they have made 3 sequels. The film is an out and out slasher flick; it involves a high school where students are being killed off one by one and the students must consider the ‘rules’ of horror films to survive.

8. Dawn of the Dead (1978)

Dawn of the Dead is responsible for much of the craze surrounding the zombie niche at the moment. It is a fantastic film about a group of people consisting of two SWAT officers, a traffic reporter and his exec girlfriend who take sanctuary in a shopping mall to get away from the growing epidemic of zombies. There has since been a remake of the movie in 2004.

7. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

This movie now has a bad reputation amongst movie goers mainly because of the shockingly bad remake of it in 2003 as well as another remake sequel in 2006 and a 3D version in 2013. The original film is about a group of friends who are going to visit their grandfather’s house when they happen to come across a chainsaw wielding maniac and his family of cannibalistic freaks.

6. Dracula (1992)

Bram Stoker’s Dracula came to the big screen in 1992 starring Gary Oldman and got fantastic reviews. Everybody knows the story of Dracula, the vampire who comes to England to inflict maximum havoc on the land and seduce a visitor’s fiancée.  A subtitling company would have been useful at times in the movie to help understand Gary Oldman’s accent.

5. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

This movie brought us one of the more legendary horror movie villains in the form of Freddy Krueger. The film is about a killer who haunts the dreams of children that are the descendants of a lynch mob that killed him.

Psycho is the classic horror film, everybody knows it even the none horror fans. The film revolves around a secretary that steals $40,000 from her employers clients account and happens to end up with a young hotel owner who has been controlled by his mother for far too long.

The Thing is the classic shape shifter film, whilst on an expedition in the Antarctic a group of scientists are confronted by an Alien that can take the shape of the host that it kills. Once again this film has been remade and absolutely slaughtered in 2011.

Michael Myers is the villain in Halloween; he is a psychotic murderer who has been locked up in an insane asylum since childhood for murdering his sister but manages to escape. He then stalks and tries to kill and a girl and her friends whilst the doctor responsible for him is running around the place trying to find him. It is a classic slasher movie.

Well the movie is another remake of South indian cinema “Vikramarkudu” 2006 (Pratighat Hindi Dub), when I was going through the first scene of the movie I immediately recognized it ,as i had seen “Pratighat” which is frequently televised on TV. The movie is all about south Indian movies,  “Katai Total Filmy” and as far as logic or story is concerned you wont find much of it. As my dad says about south Indian cinema “Dimag ko khunti pe tang ke dekho” watch them with your minds clung on a Hanger “

Movie is quite fast moving and if you aren’t looking for some intellectual dose, you will find movie entertaining , as far as dialogues and script is concerned its a comic gravel and nothing makes much of the sense but parts of movie are creative. Dance sequences and actions scenes of the movie salvages it from being a flop. Akshays  touchstone comedy is replicated in the movie and don’t expect much out of him as you will watch one more of his stale comedy.

Sonakshi Sinha is again a rich eye candy after Dabang . Their is not much to act in the movie but she has indeed done her part , he fans would positively admire her in dance sequences.

Vidu Vinod Chopra is appalled on  how come a serious director/ producer like Bhansali produced such a  movie. He says may be he is taking a revenge on how “Guzaarish” was contemplated by the audience.

What’s Good: The comic scenes; the action sequences; Akshay Kumar’s performance; the music.

Satte pe Satta Amitabh Bacchan’s Comedy Milestone , A tipical movie inspired from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Story
Satte Pe Satta is the story of seven brothers living on a large farmhouse. The first half of the movie shows the life of the brothers who grew up under the helm of their oldest brother Ravi (Amitabh Bachchan). Parentless and lacking basic human manners, these young adults who are also misogynists sustain their livelihood by farming. A sequence of events leads Ravi to fall in love with a nurse named Indu (Hema Malini) whom he eventually marries. The remaining six brothers learn to adjust with new woman in their lives as she does with them, trying to civilize them. Soon enough, they all fall in love with a group of six women (and the feeling is mutual) and shortly things take a turn.

The group of women is a caring troupe for a physically challenged girl named Seema Singh (Ranjeeta) who is still single. She happens to be Ranjit Singh’s (Amjad Khan) niece. Since the niece has recently turned twenty one, the uncle wants the niece dead so that he can claim all her wealth. The following part of the movie involves plots by Ranjit Singh to kill his niece, which involve the use of Ravi’s look-alike Babu (played again by Amitabh Bachchan) and replacing Ravi with Babu. The brothers come to Ravi’s aid once he is kidnapped and replaced by Babu.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is a 1983 Hindi film directed by Kundan Shah and produced by NFDC. It is a dark satire on the rampant corruption in Indian politics, bureaucracy, news media and business, and stars an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah and Bhakti Barve.

Kundan Shah won the 1984 Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director for his work. ‘Indiatimes Movies’ ranks the film amongst the ‘Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films’. The film was part of the NFDC Retrospective at India International Film Festival in 2006

Synopsis

Professional photographers Vinod Chopra (Naseeruddin Shah) and Sudhir Mishra (Ravi Baswani) open a photo studio in the prestigious Haji Ali area, and hope to make enough money to keep it running. After a disastrous start, they are given some work by the editor of “Khabardar”, a publication that exposes the scandalous lives of the rich and the famous. They accept it and start working with the editor, Shobha Sen (Bhakti Barve), on a story exposing the dealings between an unscrupulous builder, Tarneja (Pankaj Kapoor), and corrupt Municipal Commissioner D’Mello (Satish Shah). During their investigation, they find out that another builder Ahuja (Om Puri) too is involved in this dealing.

While working on their story, Sudhir and Vinod decide to enter a photography contest that carries a prize money of Rs.5000/-, and take a number of photographs all over the city. On developing their pictures, in one of the photographs they see a man shooting someone. Upon enlarging it, they realize that the killer is none other than Tarneja. They immediately return to the park where they had shot that picture and realize that the body is lying behind the bushes. Before the duo get to the body, it disappears, but they manage to retrieve one of a pair of gold cuff links. Sometime later, they attend the inauguration of a bridge dedicated to the memory of late Municipal Commissioner D’Mello who is supposed to have died of a terminal disease. It is there that they discover the other cuff link. They return at night and dig up that area and unearth a coffin containing the dead body of D’Mello.


The duo take a number of photographs of the corpse, and wheel it with them with the hopes of exposing Tarneja. Suddenly the body disappears. Later they find out that the body is with Tarneja’s rival, Ahuja who had, in an inebriated condition, carried the coffin tied to his car to his farm house. They provide this information to Shobha, who in turn starts blackmailing Tarneja. He invites her and her associates to crack a deal, and plants a bomb to kill them. Unfortunately, the bomb explodes right in the face of Tarneja and his henchmen, and the trio escape from the scene. Later, the duo realize that Shobha and Ahuja are up to no good, and so they take the corpse, and wheel it with them, but not before Tarneja, Ahuja, the new Municipal Commissioner Srivastav (Deepak Qazir), Shobha and others also get involved, resulting in a series of comic mix-ups including one with some burkha-clad women.

The climax is set upon a stage dramatization of the Mahabharata, particularly the enactment of the Draupadi Cheer-Haran episode, which is turned on its head with the duo and the group following them inserting themselves into the scene. The corpse plays Draupadi and the vile Duryodhana, who orders the disrobing in the original version, ends up pledging to save Draupadi’s honor at any cost. To make things even more hilarious, a new act – that of the ill-fated romance of Salim and Anarkali – is introduced, with the corpse playing Anarkali.

Ramprasad is a recent college graduate who finds a job with a finicky man, Bhavani Shankar, who believes that a man without a mustache is a man without a character. Bhavani Shankar is also against any of his employees indulging in recreation of any kind. When Ramprasad is caught by his boss at a soccer match, he has to invent a twin brother, the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, to save his job. When Bhavani’s daughter falls in love with the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, and insists on marrying him, and Bhavani insists she should marry Ramprasad, things take a whacky turn. A fake mother and a hilarious chase are other enjoyable features involved in this comedy.

chartered accountant and his sister Ratna, are orphans living in Bombay. One morning, an old family friend, Dr. Kedar, comes to visit him with information about a very well-paid job being advertised by Bhavani Shankar (Utpal Dutt), the owner of Urmila Trading Corporation, who happens to be Dr. Kedar’s personal friend also. Bhavani approves of Ram Prasad Dashrath Prasad Sharma’s moustache, oily hair and (short) kurta-pajama, and hires him. Bhavani Shankar is a bit nutty and feels young people should have no interests other than work, so when Ram Prasad wants to watch a hockey test, Ram Prasad tells him that his mother is sick to get leave. Of course, Bhavani goes to the same hockey test and spots Ram Prasad. When confronted at work, Ram Prasad tells him that he has a twin, who is good-for-nothing, who wears loud clothes and is clean-shaven and westernized. Turns out the twin knows music, so to rehabilitate him, Bhavani offers him a job teaching music to his daughter. Complications follow…

Seeta is ill treated by her cruel aunt Kaushalya. Fed up with her atrocities, one day Seeta leaves the house and runs into Raka. But as fate could have it, Geeta’s cover is blown and she is arrested for impersonation. Seeta, in the meantime, is unable to meet life’s harsh demands, including dancing in the street, as was Geeta and Raka’s profession. As Geeta is got rid off, Kaushalya locates Seeta and brings her back to her life of mute slavery, abuse, and confinement.

The story is by Salim-Javed and the music by R.D. Burman.

The story is about identical twins (played by Hema Malini) who are separated at birth and grow up with different temperaments. The twins then swap places (like The Prince and the Pauper). Hema’s two partners in the movie are played by Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar. Manorama plays the evil aunt who changes her tune after her arm is twisted (literally). Furthermore, Hema Malini was noted for the novelty of her role as Geeta where she is rambunctious and sometimes violent.

This theme has been repeated in other movies before and after. A prior movie on this theme was Ram Aur Shyam starring Dilip Kumar in the leading dual role. Subsequent Hindi remakes of the story have been made, including Jaise Ko Taisa starring Jeetendra, Chaalbaaz starring Sridevi and Kishen Kanhaiya starring Anil Kapoor in the dual role(s). Remakes in other languages include the Telugu film Ganga Manga (1973) starring Vanisri in the dual role.

Hema Malini won her only competitive Filmfare Best Actress Award of her career. P. Vaikunth won the Filmfare Best Cinematographer Award.

Plot:

Seeta and Geeta (Hema Malini-dual role) are twin girls who were separated at birth. Geeta, a feisty girl is raised in a poor neighborhood and is a street performer, while Seeta is raised by her cruel aunt Chachi (Manorama) and meek uncle. Chachi treats Seeta like a servant, despite the fact that the family is living off her late parents’ money. Seeta’s only consolation is her old grandmother.

One day, Seeta decided life is not worth living and runs away to commit suicide. She is saved but is mistaken for her identical twin Geeta and is taken to Geeta’s home. Meanwhile, Seeta’s aunt and uncle are frantically searching for her and find Geeta. They attempt to force Geeta to go with them but, using some of her clever tricks, she escapes them and the police who have been searching for her. She then meets Ravi (Sanjeev Kumar) and, though he also mistakes her for Seeta, she goes home with him. Ravi is surprised by this “Seeta” and the Seeta he had met previously. Geeta realizes the cruelty that Seeta has been living under and vows to teach her aunt a lesson.

Meanwhile, the real Seeta is living in Geeta’s house. Her surrogate mother has attributed her new docile attitude to shock. Here, Seeta meets Raka (Dharmendra), Geeta’s friend and fellow performer. Raka is also surprised by “Geeta’s” sudden gentle nature and desire to do housework. When he tried to coax her into performing, she is unable to do so. Ravi meanwhile falls in love with Geeta. At home, Geeta begins to set everything on a proper course. She resumes control of the money and restores her grandmother to the head of the household, where she belongs. Raka begins to fall in love with Seeta. Trouble begins brewing when Chachi’s brother Ranjeet comes to visit and sees the real Seeta in a marketplace. He follows her and discovers the truth, which leads to a showdown in the villains’ den with happy endings and marriage.

Synopsis

Charlie Chaplin once again mined his stage inebriate act for his seventh foray into film, His Favorite Pastime. The short begins in a bar, and Chaplin’s tramp character is already so stewed that when lighting his cigar, he tosses away the cigar and hangs onto the lit match. After dealing with another drunk (Fatty Arbuckle) who is intent on stealing Chaplin’s beer, the tramp steps out of the bar to catch some air. There he spies a pretty young woman, and he hits on her hard… until her husband shows up. While returning to the bar seems like a relatively safe move, Chaplin ends up spending more time roughhousing with the other barflies (and an uncooperative swinging door) than he does downing whiskey.

Eventually the tramp returns to the street and catches a glimpse of the married woman getting into an automobile. The lecherous lush follows the car and somehow manages to arrive at the woman’s house before she does herself; but the stewed stalker is forced to hit the streets when the woman, her maid, her husband, and various neighbors make it clear that he is an unwelcome guest.

His Favorite Pastime will never be confused with Chaplin’s best work. Like most of the early Chaplin Keystone shorts, the film has little plot beyond “Chaplin drinks and causes mayhem,” and the comedian’s tramp character lacks the subtlety and depth that would develop once the comic gained full control of his productions. While slapstick roughhousing would always be part of Chaplin’s comic arsenal; in the later films, the recipients of the tramp’s boot would deserve the abuse. In His Favorite Pastime, Chaplin strikes out at innocents and is simply a drunken lout.

Still, it’s easy to see why Chaplin’s character and this particular short were hits with audiences of the time. The comedian manages a number of funny improvisations with props, including his battle with a swinging door that anticipates his mêlée with a Murphy bed in the later short One A.M. (1916). There are also some nice acrobatics, including a tumble over a stair rail into a perfect sitting position on a couch below. While there is little motivation for Chaplin’s actions beyond the fact that he is lubricated in the extreme, the story holds together better than in most of his earlier Keystones, and the short is a major improvement over his previous film, Tango Tangles (1914).

Ref: Film story submitted by you, regarding financing of films by
Government of India, Your letter dt. …………. ……… .

The undersigned is directed to refer the above letter and state that
the Government has examined your proposal for financing a film called
”Mahabharat’. The Very High Level Committee constituted for this
purpose has been in consultation with the Human Rights Commission,
National Commission for Women and Labour Commission, in addition to
various Ministries and State Governments and have formed definitive
opinions about the script. Their observations are as below:

1. In the script submitted by you it is shown that there were two sets of
cousins, namely, the Kauravas, numbering one hundred, and the Pandavas,
numbering five. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has pointed out
that these numbers are high, well above the norm prescribed for families by
them. It is brought to your kind attention that when the Government is
spending huge amounts for promoting family planning, this will send wrong
signals to the public. Therefore, it is recommended that there may be only
three Kauravas and one Pandava.

2. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has raised an issue whether it is
suitable to depict kings and emperors in this democratic age. Therefore, it
is suggested that the Kauravas may be depicted as Honourable Members of
Parliament (Lok Sabha) and the Pandava may be depicted as Honourable Member
of Parliament (Rajya Sabha). The ending of the film shows the victory of
the said Pandavas over the said Kauravas. The ending may be suitably
modified so that neither of the Honourable Members of Parliament are shown
as being inferior to the
other.

3. The Ministry of Science and Technology has observed that the manner of
birth of Kauravas is suggestive of human cloning, a technology banned in
India. This may be changed to normal birth.

4. The National Commission for Women has objected that the father of
Pandavas, one Sri Pandu, is depicted as bigamous, and also there is only
one wife for the Pandavas in common. Therefore suitable changes may be made
in the said script so that the said Sri Pandu is not depicted as bigamous.
However, with the reduction in number of Pandavas as suggested above, the
issue of polyandry can be addressed without further trouble.

5. The Commission for the Physically Challenged has observed that the
portrayal of the visually impaired character ‘Dhritharastra’ is derogatory..
Therefore the said character may not be shown as visually impaired.

6. The Department of Women and Child Development have highlighted that the
public disrobing of one female character called ‘Draupadi’ is objectionable
and derogatory to women in general. Further the Home Ministry anticipates
that depiction of such scenes may create law and order problem and at the
same time invite strong protests from the different women forums. Such
scenes may also invite penal action under SITA (Suppression of Immoral
Traffic Act), therefore they may be avoided and deleted from the film.

7. It is felt that showing the Pandava and the Kauravas as gamblers will be
anti-social and counter productive as it might encourage gambling.
Therefore, the said Pandava and Kauravas may be shown to have engaged in
horse racing. (Hon. Supreme Court has held horse racing not to be gambling)

8. The Pandavas are shown as working in the King Virat’s employment without
receiving any salary. According to the Human Rights Commission, this amounts
to bonded labour and may attract provisions of The Bonded Labour System
(Abolition) Act, 1976. This may be corrected at once.

9. In the ensuing war, one character by name Sri Abhimanyu has been shown
as fighting. The National Labour Commission has observed that, war being a
hazardous industry, and the said character being 16 years old, this
depiction will be construed as a case of child labour. Also there is no
record of his being paid any compensation. This may also be deemed to be
violatory of the provisions of The Child Labour (Prohibition and
Regulation) Act, 1986 and Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Such references in the
film may be removed.

10. The character ‘Sri Krishna’ has been depicted as wearing a peacock
feather. The peacock is our National Bird and wearing dresses made from
peacock feather is an offence under the Wild Life Protection Act, 1972.
This may not be depicted

11. Smt Maneka Gandhi has raised very serious objection for using any
elephants or horses in war scenes, since there is every scope for
mistreatment and injury to the said animals. The provisions of the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1890 and Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (Amendment) Act, 1960 would be applicable in the instant case.
Suitable changes may be made in the script to address the objections
raised.

12. In pursuance of the Memorandum of Ministry of Finance regarding
austerity measures, it is informed that in the battle field sequences, only
ten soldiers may be allowed for each side. Also, all the characters may be
shown to have obtained a valid licence under the Arms Act, 1959 as well as
the Indian Arms Act, 1878.

You are therefore requested to modify the script along the lines indicated
above and resubmit it to the undersigned at the earliest for reconsideration.

Synopsis

The film revolves around two people. Lal is an ambitious guy who wants to start his own business and make it big in life. Das is a loudmouth, and a very arrogant person. The two manage to get hold of 5000 rupees and they open a vada pav centre. As luck would have it, Lal wins Rs. 2 lakhs in a contest. The duo plan to start a travel agency. Since they do not have enough money to buy a vehicle, they use spare parts of old cars to create a bus. Trusting Das to come up with a good make of a bus, he blindly hands over the prize money to him. Lal manages to get passengers for their first ride. But when the bus comes all hell breaks loose with people demanding their money back.

But when the passengers are forced to ride in it, it leads to a rat race for them and the bus owner duo, for some golden ornaments, which they somehow manage to find under a statue which they pulled down, but the gold is seized by the police. After the police are off with the gold, the passengers as well as the bus owner duo begin to repent their greed and decide to do a “philanthropic” job by fixing the fallen statue. But trying to fix the statue they manage to break it into pieces. Inside is a pack of diamonds. Lal thanks God for the reward and everybody gets their share of the diamonds.

Then an elderly male comes to visit Ramlal, he identifies himself as Rai Bahadur Ganga Prasad, claims he is very wealthy, and the estranged father of Ashok. Ramlal seizes this opportunity and asks Rai Bahadur to get Ashok to marry one of his daughters. Ashok and his dad reconcile, and Ashok decides to marry Nirmala. Then Ramlal gets another visitor, a wealthy elderly male by the name of Devraj, who used to know Ramlal during his school-days. Ramlal and Devraj talk about old times, and end up fixing up the marriage of Malti with Devraj’s son. Ramlal introduces Devraj to Rai Bahadur and starts preparations for both marriages – little knowing that soon he will find out that Devraj’s son has gone missing, perhaps refusing to marry someone his dad has chosen for him; Rai Bahadur is not who he claims to be; and that Ashok maybe the son of a poor school-teacher.

Plot:

Chaplin and Sterling play two young men, Masher and Rival Masher, who fight over the chance to help a young woman (Clifton) cross a muddy street. Sterling first sees the woman trying to cross and offers her an umbrella he stole from a policeman, and asked her to wait for him as he goes to get something to help her. Then Chaplin comes along and offers the woman to help her cross as well and wait for his return. While Sterling and Chaplin go to get the logs, a policeman (Conklin) lifts the woman across the street. When Sterling returns with the log, he was indignant that the woman did not wait for him to come back to help her cross the muddy street, and demands the umbrella back. When the woman refused, they engage in a fight which eventually involves Chaplin.

Pepsi Stuff. Consumers were invited to “Drink Pepsi, Get Stuff” and collect Pepsi Points on billions of packages and cups. They could redeem the points for free Pepsi lifestyle merchandise. After researching and testing the program for over two years to ensure that it resonated with consumers, Pepsi launched Pepsi Stuff, which was an instant success. Tens of millions of consumers participated. Pepsi outperformed Coke during the summer of the Atlanta Olympics – held in Coke’s hometown – where Coke was a lead sponsor of the Games. Due to its success, the program was expanded to include Mountain Dew, and into Pepsi’s international markets worldwide. The company continued to run the program for many years, continually innovating with new features each year.

This cola war has now concluded, with Pepsi Stuff ending its services and Coke Rewards still offering prizes on their website. Both were loyalty programs that give away prizes and product to consumers after collecting bottle caps and 12 or 24 pack box tops, then submitting codes online for a certain number of points. However, Pepsi’s online partnership with Amazon allowed consumers to buy various products with their “Pepsi Points”, such as mp3 downloads. Andrew Garfield replaces Toby Maguire in the 4 th Series of Spiderman, The Movie is named after the famous comic Series of Spiderman “The Amazing Spiderman”. This Movie is actually not the forth Sequel to the Spiderman Series of Movies but it’s a Reboot. The film’s development began simultaneously with Sony announcing the cancellation of Spider-Man 4. Opting for a reboot with the same production team with a new director and new cast. The studio announced a July 2012 release date for what was now titled “The Amazing Spider-Man”. The film will portray Parker as his super powers are evolving in high school and focuses on Peter Parker developing his abilities. Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner.

“This is based on The Amazing & Ultimate Spider-Man universe. It’s the story of an outcast high schooler abandoned by his SHIELD agent parents to be raised by his Uncle & Aunt. Peter finds his way with his 1st crush, Gwen Stacy. When discovering his father’s mysterious briefcase, he tries & understand his parents’ disappearance & leads him to the lab of Dr Connors, his dad’s former partner. When set on a collision with Connors’ as The Lizard, Peter chooses to use his powers & become a hero”

Avi Arad, Laura Ziskin and Matt Tolmach, who were always involved with the franchise, continued on as producers of the film .Sony confirmed that Vanderbilt would write the script for the new film. Entertainment Weekly called Vanderbilt’s script “gritty, contemporary” and referenced Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan’s reboot of the Batman film series.

The film began shooting on December 6, 2010 in Los Angeles. The 90-day film shoot also includes two weeks in New York City, while the bulk of filming occurred in and around Los Angeles, including such locations as the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood, St. John Bosco High School’s Gym, Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Mid-Wilshire, and various locations around South Pasadena, San Pedro, and Woodland Hills. Sony Entertainment spokesman Steve Elzer says “this is the fourth Spider-Man production we have shot primarily in Los Angeles and for good reason, the crews here are the best in the world but there is a comfort level in producing a project of this size and scope on your own backlot.” He continued, “Basing the film on the lot also makes it easier for producers to interact with Sony’s in-house visual effects team, and gives the studios greater control of quality and security.”

The stunt performers of the film included the Armstrong family,Vic Armstrong and Andy Armstrong. Garfield was reported to be involved with some of the stunts as well. The actor was even reported to have a tissue in his nose suffering a nosebleed from his swinging in New York City. While filming in New York the crew built a whole rig hundreds of feet long over Riverside Drive in Harlem. While there they swung a man through traffic down the street. Andy Armstrong built a car rig with a series of wires to help with effects which required an incredible wealth of acrobatics.

Webb feels a responsibility to reinvent Spider-Man on the big screen stating that he and the crew tried to keep the stunts more grounded physically which he said was a huge challenge for a film that stars a character whose abilities are superhuman. The crew spent many months developing rigs so he could swing in a way that wasn’t computer-generated. Webb stated, “Obviously there’s going to be enhancements and CG, but it’s based in a physical reality and that’s a new technique.”One of the biggest changes of the franchise to reinvent the hero for the the film was to go back to the original source material in the mainstream comics of Spider-Man having artificial web shooters. Webb stated, “the web-shooters were able to dramatize Peter’s intellect”. Webb explained, “We paid attention to the question of ‘How would a kid make it?’ And obviously we took some license with it.”Webb explained that he and the crew “wanted a design that would make the body longer and lither, more of an acrobat, someone incredibly agile, and the legs of the spider were something we used to emphasize that.”He also explained that the crew made a bunch of different suits for different lighting conditions even using something that would work in the night a little better. They also paid attention to making the webbing on the costume a little bit darker. Webb confessed, “With the costume and the web-shooters we wanted to emphasize that these are things that Peter Parker made and that he is special himself even if he feels like he’s an outsider.

Andrew Garfield dons the webbed crusader’s suit in The Amazing Spiderman, that is hitting theatres in July. There are a lot of expectations from the British-American actor, who has been hailed for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg’s best friend in The Social Network as well as his work in theatre. Garfield talks about the inevitable comparisons with Toby Maguire – who played Spiderman in the earlier three movies – and the pressures of living upto the superhero hype.

Garfield said he “related to Peter Parker so much because felt like someone else inside”. Garfield drew from his life experiences as inspiration for the role, revealing, “I was thinking of my history and thinking of the kid at school who I wasn’t as strong as, who behaved badly to a lot of people – including myself – and who I constantly tried to stand up to but never had the physical prowess to”. He said he respects Tobey Maguire as an actor and that when he first saw Maguire play Spider-Man he “was blown away by his interpretation.” On taking over the role, “I see it as a massive challenge in many ways…. To make it authentic. To make the character live and breathe in a new way.

Emma Stone described her character as “a daddy’s girl”. Stone dyed her hair blonde for the role of the character, which happens to be her natural hair color even though she is better recognized with her red hair. She felt that she had a responsibility to educate herself on Spider-Man, admitting that she did not know much about the character beyond the Raimi films. After her role she expressed interest in Spider-Man, the character she played and the rest of the Marvel Universe that she was going to be involved with. Stone also had this to say about the fans who would be protective of Spider-Man and the character she plays: “There’s a part of me that really wants to please people that love Spider-Man or Gwen Stacy and want her to be done justice. I hope they’ll give me license to interpret her my way. But that fan base, I’m one of them, so I completely understand why they would be judgmental of certain things.”

Ifans described the character that he is playing not as a evil incarnated villain but as a flawed character much like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde.“Curt Conners is by no means an evil villain,” Ifans stated. “He’s not like the Batman villains, like the Joker, who are the embodiment of evil. Curtis Connors is a great man who makes a bad decision. That’s the whole magic of the Spider-Man idea. These people are the embodiment of our flaws and our desires that lead to tragedy.”

In a September, 2011 interview, Ifans claimed that his character spends the majority of the film as a human. While filming for the 9-foot tall Lizard, Ifans was required to wear a CGI suit. Initially, a large stunt-double was used as a stand-in for the role, but Ifans insisted on portraying the transformed character, to which Webb agreed. Commenting on the technology used to bring his character to life, Ifans continued “I had a green suit on, and then this cardboard head, and these big claws… Each and every time you see the Lizard, the technology is so advanced now that when the Lizard’s eyes move, they’re my eyes. If I frown or show any emotion, they’re my emotions. That’s how spectacularly advanced technology is.”

Ifans also said that he voiced the Lizard as well explaining, “I’m sure the voice will be toyed with in the eventual edits, but when I was shooting the CGI moments, when I wasn’t actually human, when I was Lizard, I looked like a crash-test dummy in a green leotard thing. There were many moments when I had to speak to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as the Lizard.”

Kashyap said in a Press Release “It’s everything that the title says. And the Shuv between the Luv and the chicken is what is more fun,”. Kashyap has roped in Trivedi for the music. As the title suggests, the film has Punjabi flavor – it revolves around a Punjabi joint family and a secret recipe of a dish called Chicken Khurana. The film promises to entertain audiences with inherent humour, drama, emotion and confusion on the screen. “Anurag shared the script with us and we instantly fell in love with the characters and the world that the writer Sumit Batheja has created. Very few stories can make you laugh out loud one moment and bring a lump in your throat the next – ‘Luv Shuv’ maintains that delicate balance of humour and emotion throughout,” said Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures. While Kunal Kapoor plays the male lead,  Hot and sizzling newcomer Huma Qureshi has been roped in to play the female protagonist. She would also be seen in Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur and Ajith starrer BILLA 2.

According to Actor Kunal Kapoor’s ”Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is believed to be Bollywood’s first movie based on the concept of food” The actor is playing the lead character opposite Huma Qureshi. The shooting of the film has already begun in Ludhiana.

Kunal said “India being a foodie nation, making a film on such a subject is the most appropriate option.” A person’s daily routine in the country starts and ends with reference to food alone. The dinning table of every house is the place where a lot of family bonding takes place.

He also revealed that since he is a bad cook, he always prefers to stay on the other side of the kitchen, i.e. eating side.Recollecting some of the incidents happening on the sets, the actor said that he ate much of chicken but never had enough of it as he was restricted from doing workout. The Dark Knight Rises: Official Teaser Trailer

Written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan Nolan. Based on the character of DC Comics : Batman, This upcoming Movie will be the third installment in Batman’s Nolan film series. It is a sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). The Dark Knight Rises is purported to be the conclusion of the series. It stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman. The film Showcases the events after Eight years of  The Dark Knight and will introduce the characters of Selina Kyle and Bane—portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy, respectively—two villains from the Batman mythology.

Nolan was initially hesitant about returning to the series for a third time,

but agreed to be back after contructing a story with his brother Jonathan and David S. Goyer that he was convinced would conclude the series on a satisfactory note. The film has inspirations from the Batman comic book series Knightfall (1993), which debuted the villain “Bane”; The Dark Knight Returns (1986), in which Batman returns to Gotham City after a ten-year absence; and No Man’s Land (1999), which depicts a major earthquake hitting Gotham.

Filming of The Dark Night Rises took place in various locations, including locations in India, London, Glasgow, Los Angeles, New York, Newark, and Pittsburgh.

Nolan utilized IMAX cameras for much of the filming to optimize the quality of the picture. As with The Dark Knight, viral marketing campaigns began early during production to help promote the upcoming film. When filming concluded, Warner Bros. refocused its campaign; developing promotional websites, releasing the first six minutes of the film and theatrical trailers, and sending random pieces of information regarding the film’s plot to various companies.

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled for release in the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada on July 20, 2012.

Nolan has stated that, due to the eight-year gap between the events of The Dark Knight and those of The Dark Knight Rises, “he’s an older Bruce Wayne; he’s not in a great state.“Bale has stated that The Dark Knight Rises will be the final film in which he plays Batman”.

Hardy stated that he intended to portray the character as “more menacing” than in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin.

He gained 30 pounds (14 kg) of muscle for the role,increasing his weight to 198 pounds (90 kg).According to costume designer Lindy Hemming, the character wears a mask that supplies him with an analgesic gas to relieve pain he suffers from an injury sustained “early in his story”, while Nolan explained that the character was chosen because of the desire to “[test] Batman both physically as well as mentally”.

Hardy describes Bane’s fighting style as Brutal. “He’s a big dude who’s incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and oriented fighting style. It’s not about fighting. It’s about carnage. The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it’s nasty. Anything from small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. He is a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action.”

Originally, Nolan was unfamiliar with the character’s back-story, but did acknowledge his physicality: “With Bane, the physicality is the thing,” Nolan said. “With a good villain you need an archetype, you know, you need the extreme of some type of villainy. The Joker is obviously a particular archetype of diabolical, chaotic anarchy and has a devilish sense of humor. Bane, to me, is something we haven’t dealt with in the films. We wanted to do something very different in this film. He’s a primarily physical villain, he’s a classic movie monster in a way — but with a terrific brain.”

Nolan  commented on Hardy’s performance: “Tom is somebody who really knows how to put character into every gesture, every aspect of his physicality in the way that great actors can. He’s a very, very physical actor. He transforms himself and its there in every movement. He’s not afraid to look at a character from the outside as well as the inside so there’s a deep psychological branch to the character but also a very, very specific awareness of how he’s going to use his body and his appearance to express that character too.”

Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle

An associate of Bane. Hathaway has called the role her most physically demanding yet, especially fitting into the character’s signature leather costume.Hathaway works out five days a week for the role, including rigorous exercise and stunt training followed by an hour and a half of dance. She explained, “I’ve always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job I also have to be strong.”

Aside from her physical demands, Hathaway comments on her suit being used for her character: “It’s disappointing. I think everyone feels a slight frustration with it because those stills so undercut the work that’s being done,” she said. Hathaway also commented on her distinctive choreographing style: “They’ve given me a martial arts exercise that I have to do all the time to teach me grace and proper stance and fluid movement. It looks so gentle, but when you’re actually doing fight choreography it’s ‘Oh my gosh, that’s actually a block. Oh, I’m hitting somebody’s throat right now’.”Hathaway based her breathing on that of Hedy Lamarr.

Bhagwan full name Abhaji Palav Bhagwan was born on 1st August 1913.

He was particularly popular with the masses as they could easily identify with his roles. Born in Mumbai, Bhagwan was the son of a mill worker. Bhagwan came into films in the silent era with Chandrarao Kadam his long-term partner.Bewafa Aashiq was his debut movie

Bhagwan started with stunt films directed by G.P. Pawar.

He co-directed his first feature film, Bahadur Kisan, with Pawar in 1938 before becoming a producer with Jagriti Pictures and Bhagwan Art Productions. He became the owner of Jagriti Studios in 1947. Bhagwan reached the pinnacle of his career with Albela. In this film he played the role of a simpleton. His dance number, `Shola Jo Bhadke` became a rage. The dance style he created was followed by many stars after him, including Amitabh Bachchan. From 1938 to 1949 he had directed low budget stunt and action films.

In 1951 he turned producer with Jagriti Pics and Bhagwan Arts Production.

He made a social film called Albela starring Bhagwan and Geeta Bali. Despite his unquestionable talent, Bhagwan was relegated to playing cameo roles as comedian and dancer from the early 1970s.

Bhagwan failed to deliver any more hits and eventually gave up producing and directing films.

He had to sell his bungalow and cars. He did whatever roles he got but apart from Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje and Chori Chori, none were noticed. Bhagwan died in the year 2002 at the age of 89 in poverty the end days of his life were not good.

But considering the numerous referenced made to him over the past 750 years, there is little doubt about his existence. In fact the oldest Mullah  Nasreddin hodja story occurs in the book ‘Saltukname’ written in 1480, which also contains other folk stories and legends. This book reveals that Nasreddin hodja was born in the Turkish village of Sivrihisar in 1208. Another account claims he was born in the village of Horto near Sivrihisar He moved to Aksehir in 1237, where he died around 1284.

The title Mullah denotes ‘priest’ In Arabic. The international Nasruddin Hodja festivals ls celebrated in Turkey with great pomp and gaiety every year, between July 5 and 10. in the town where he was Supposedly burled. The celebrations permit writers and Exists an opportunity to present their works of drama, films, music’s animation and paintings to keep alive the memory of the legendary Nasruddin Hodja. Hodja is a title that means (teachers or ‘scholar’. Nasruddin’s graveyard is a pilgrimage site of sorts.

Many of Nasruddin’s tales indicate the influence of Sufism and some accounts claim he was a Sufi.

His tales reveal facets about the people and lifestyles of ancient times. The renowned Afghan writer Idries Shah compiled hundreds of his stories in three volumes. Sufis use Mullah Nasruddin’s stories as teaching exercises and scores of his tales come from Sufi sources. Many stories were originally told by great Sufi poets like Jalal-uddin Rumi, Hafiz and Sadi, but were later retold as Mullah Nasruddin tales.

Mullah’s humour is typical and on many occasions ends with a counter-query. Sample this:

“One day. Mullah was asked, How is it that you always answer a question with another question?”

Another anecdote illustrates this point further:

”Mullah, a roasted chicken just-flew pasta ” a man once accosted Nasruddin excitedly.

”But huzoor, it went inside your house ” the Man replied.

”Then how does that concern you? ” Nasreddin hodja snapped.”

In some anecdotes, Mullah happens to be the smart joker taking others for a ride. In other tales, he’s the one who gets taken in. In yet others, the Joke seems to swing both ways and one isn’t exactly sure who has taken whom for a ride! Many tales are full of unabashed nonsense and unbridled humour- with Nasreddin hodja playing the wise man, the fool. The victim or the prankster in turns! Finally, to round off the legend of Mullah Nasruddin, before we delve into the actual tales, another poser: How did Mullah Nasruddin come to be so funny?

The legend goes that when Nasreddin hodja was a young boy in school, two of his classmates killed, cooked and ate a lamb, which was probably their teacher’s pet. The teacher was deeply anguished shocked by this outrage and soon discovered who the culprits were. Nasruddin’s classmates confessed that one of them had slit the lambs throat, while the other had flayed and cooked the meat. As for Nasruddin Hodja. His sole role in the despicable affair etc that he had watched and laughed during the entire proceedings.

So the teacher cursed the threesome.. ”Let him who slit the throat of my lamb have his own throat slit. Let him who flayed my lamb himself be flayed. And Let him who laughed be laughed at by the whole world.

Curse or no curse, Nasreddin hodja has since been regaling ample from all over the world. His anecdotes are now being spun in modern avatars, with many tales of Mullah’s exploits in America and England. However, this book deals with his tales of yore.

No matter what Mullah Nasruddin is called – a wise fool or a foolish wise man – there is no doubt that he is the most loved trickster in the world. No wonder, 1996 had been declared Nasreddin Hodja – Year by UNESCO.

She considers her jijaji to be highly intellectual and looks upon him as her idol. Parimal develops an inferiority complex thanks to Sulekha’s excessive praise of her jijaji and decides to prove that he is in no way a lesser mortal. Jijaji, meanwhile, has written a letter to Haripat bhaiyya (David Abraham Cheulkar) asking him to send a driver who can speak good Hindi because his present driver James D’costa (Keshto Mukherjee) uses improper grammar. This provides the perfect opportunity for Parimal to get to see and interact with jijaji.

Parimal becomes Pyaremohan Ilahabadi, a motor-mouth driver who pretends to hate the English language and so speaks only Hindi. So begins the comedy of errors, as Parimal and Sulekha play prank after prank on the unsuspecting jijaji.

Parimal’s long-time friend P K Srivastava (Asrani) is also party to the prank. His sister-in-law Vasudha (Jaya Bachchan) suspects fake ‘Parimal’ – Sukumar Sinha – of infidelity to his wife ‘Sulekha’ when he tries to get close to her. Sukumar falls in love with Vasudha who at first believed he was Parimal, but Sukumar reveals to her the real drama behind all this mix-up of situations. Lata Srivastava (Lily Chakravarty), P K Srivastava’s wife, is also angered over the latest ‘extra marital’ love affair. But toward the end, Sukumar and Vasudha end up marrying in a temple where Haripat bhaiyya coerces Pyaremohan to ‘kill’ himself so that Parimal could surface. Thus jijaji comes to comprehend the whole enactment, finally admitting that he was truly fooled. The film revolves around the resolution of these funny mishaps.

Story:

The film revolves around two pairs of identical twins separated at the time of birth and the confusion created when due to coincidental circumstances they meet in adulthood.

Raj Tilak and his wife were on a trip with their twin sons ,Both were called as “Ashok” . Since they were Identical twins they should be given the same name as per Mr Tilak’s reasoning. As fate would have it, they adopted another set of twins whom they called as ‘Bahadur’. Due to  an unfortunate accident both the parents are separated with one child each. This was the  actual base of the story.

The actual comic movie starts a few years later . Ashok (Sanjeev Kumar)  married to Sudha (Moushmi Chatterjee) and Bahadur (Deven Verma) is married to Prema (Aruna Irani). They and Sudha’s sister Tanu (Deepti Naval) all stay together as a family. Coincidentally which was obvious other set of Ashok who is  a detective novel aficionado, and Bahadur, a bhang lover come to the same village where first set of twins were living. Now there are two Ashoks and Bahadurs in the same city and the well woven confusion starts with roles of a Jeweler, a Taxi Driver, and a Inspector. Situation in movie becomes very difficult and confusing to be handled by the characters of the movie.

Plot:

Ashok R. Tilak lives in Dinkapur with his widowed mother, and a servant named Bahadur. He travels to another town on a business trip to buy several acres of grape-bearing trees, with Bahadur accompanying him. Although this is his first trip to this town, however, everyone appears to know him and Bahadur, including the Ticket Checker at the Railway Station, the taxi-driver, the Hotel Manager, local Police Inspector Sinha, a Jeweler named Chhedilal and his assistant Mansoor, and to top it all A woman named Sudha claims that she is his wife, and another woman named Tanu claims that she is his sister-in-law, while a third one named Alka claims that she is his mistress. All’s not well for Bahadur either for he bears the brunt of this confusion when he finds out that he has a wife named Prema; a normally sane boss, who keeps on sniffing snuff and smoking alternatively, and who yells and slaps him frequently…

Ashwini Chaudhary’s Bipasha Basu and Madhavan starrer Jodi Breakers is now in trouble. Vinay Choksi & Sanjay Ahluwalia, Producers of rascals filed a legal case in the High Court seeking to cease the movie.

Vinay Choksi & Sanjay Ahluwalia have averred that Ashwini’s storyline is similar to the story with their submitted version to Writer’s Association before Jodi Breakers was announced. Mumbai mirror was told by a friend of Choksi, “Choksi and Walia had a hunch that Jodi Breakers has the same plot as their story and they became sure after they saw the promos on National Television”

Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Choksi and Walia tried to resolve the issue. “But they got no reply from Prasar Visions Pvt Ltd, the producer of Jodi Breakers. Fed up with the production house, they approached the Court,” said their friend.

Director of Jodi Breakers, Ashwini Chaudhary revolted on the issue, “our story is original.Now a days ek trend ban gaya hai…accuse anybody and everybody after the promos released on air. We have had two hearings in the Court. The matter is under judiciary. The Court will resolve the issue.”

One puzzled student asked, “What gender is ‘computer’?”

The teacher did not know, and the word wasn’t in her French dictionary.

So for fun she split the class into two groups appropriately enough, by gender and asked them to decide whether ‘computer’ should be a masculine or feminine noun. Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.

The men’s group decided that computers should definitely be of the feminine gender (‘la computer’), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;

2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;

3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for possible later retrieval; and

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

The women’s group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine (‘le computer’), because:

1. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on;

2. They have a lot of data but they are still clueless;

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you’d waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

Shot in the three most popular and beautiful cities of the world, London, Paris and New York. The filming started in early August 2011. While shooting at Heathrow airport in London, actors Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao found themselves in a peculiar situation. Both were shooting at the busy airport and as the crew members were settting up the shot, they decided to go for a quick rehearsal of their dialogues. That’s when a couple of real-life fliers pitched in and tried to help them out. As film London, Paris, New York was caught in the crossfire for affecting locals, the filmmaker had to change the shooting location to a place outside London.The cast and crew got done with the London chapter and moved to Paris, the city of love, for its second schedule. The cast and crew were shooting at the Hudson River bridge and incidentally at the same time, the Batman crew was also there shooting for their next film. The cast and crew wrapped the shooting of the film on 5 November 2011, finishing the last schedule in New York City.

But then the vocalist suddenly looks in the distance and begins lapping his tongue in a kind of tone that the tabalchi cannot replicate and the vocalist’s followers are quick to declare him a winner. Its only then that we see someone carrying a hoarding for Centre Fruit in the distance. Added are  interesting touches like the Tabalchi combing his hair and the vocalist’s supporters declaring him winner before anyone could react, make the TVC fun.

To give this an authentic small town flavour, the commercial was shot in a temple compound at Wai, a small town near Pune.

Gyaan:
Center Fruit is is a liquid filled gum and it stands for ‘irresistable taste’. The ‘irresistable taste’ is captured very well in the baseline, ‘kaisee jeebh laplapaayee’. Post the initial commercial of ‘Phone booth’ and the subsequent ‘ATM’ commercial aired in 2006-2007, the brand was being promoted more through flavour launch films.

The need was felt to do a theme commercial that would cut across masses. This is when the idea of the ‘Jugalbandi’ was born. The communication objective was to reiterate the brand proposition of ‘kaisee jeeb laplapayee’ in a refreshing way.

Unknowingly and lame with his habit to sing he starts singing in her home and when caught he apologizes but he is appreciated for his art by Asha Devi who is attracted towards Pyare’s Innocence.

Drama Director is in much tension as his lead actor Prem Kumar threatens him to increase his salary and cancel the agreement. Asha Devi blows the red iron hot at the demanding situation and Pyare is been introduced to the director by her. But Pyare is unable to perform as he was unable to dance and drama director needed both singing and dancing. At Pyare’s home a house robbery makes situation more worse and without money Vimala marriage is broken. Due to the misery and Shock Pyare’s mother falls ill and is taken to hospital. Meanwhile Pyare unknown of Home situation is busy learning dancing from Asha Devi. Pyare gradually is trained and secures a role in a Drama. He even starts sending money at his home but his money is received by is his bhabhi which is blackmailed by Mohan’s brother in law. The situation at his home worsens ,Pyare’s mother dies due to illness and his Dad leaves home with Vimala. They are now on roads.

Pyare returns home after gaining Name & Fame but is disheartened when he gets to know the whole situation at home. Gradually Asha helps pyare searching his dad n Vimala and the movie ends on a good note.

Synopsis:

A simpleton named Bhola (Sunil Dutt) falls in love with his neighbor Bindu (Saira Banu). To impress her he wants to sing to her. However, he isn’t a good singer and so seeks the help of his friend, Guru Vidyapati (Kishore Kumar). Guru, a famous singer, agrees to help his friend. To impress Bindu, Guru sings in the background and Bhola mouths the words. Bindu is charmed by what she thinks is Bhola’s singing. They become friends and fall in love. Bindu has a music teacher named Master Pillai/Masterji (Mehmood) who is also in love with her and keeps proposing to her. Bindu loves Bhola and hence refuses Masterji.

One day Bindu finds out about Bhola’s lie. She is very upset and refuses to meet Bhola. In a rage, she decides to marry Masterji instead. They both prepare for the wedding, while Bhola thinks of a way to get Bindu back.

On the wedding day, Guru gets an idea. He makes Bhola pretend to have committed suicide. He puts a fake suicide note next to Bhola. Bhola has a noose around his neck and a chair next to him. Guru goes and tells the news to Bindu. She is shocked. She leaves her wedding altar and runs to Bhola. She reads the note and starts to repent. Bindu then tries to wake Bhola up. Bhola wakes up and Bindu is delighted. She tells Masterji that she wants to marry Bhola and he agrees. Bhola and Bindu get married.

Reportedly the song ‘Ek Chatur Naar’ (a duet by Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey) was partly improvised by Kishore Kumar at the time of recording and Manna Dey, determined to show Kishore Kumar how he would sing the duet better (since Kishore had not been trained classically), got into the mood of the song and immortalized ‘Ek Chatur Naar’. Legend also has it that Manna Dey was upset by the fact that in the picturisation of the song, the singing competition between the two heroes (Dutt and Mehmood) was won by Dutt, for whom the background singing was done by Kishore. Dey didn’t like the fact that a classically trained singer like himself would have to lose, though only on-screen, to an un-trained singer (Kishore). In the song, at a couple of times Mehmood had to say “sur gadbad jee” against Sunil Dutt where Kishore was singing hence Dey refused to say those words so Mehmood gave his own voice for the same.

Kishore Kumar’s character in the film was inspired by the personality of his uncle, Dhananjay Banerjee (a classical singer),[5] and Music Director Khemchand Prakash.

How could you withstand the extreme temperature all through the night?” The innocent brahmin replied “I could see a faintly glowing light a kilometre away and I withstood with that ray of light.” Akbar refused to pay the brahmin his reward saying that he had got warmth from the light and withstood the cold and that was cheating. The poor brahmin could not argue with him and so returned disappointed and bare-handed.
Birbal tried to explain to the king but the king was in no mood to listen to him. Thereafter, Birbal stopped coming to the durbar and sent a messenger to the king saying that he would come to the court only after cooking his khichdi.
As Birbal did not turn up even after 5 days, the king himself went to Birbal’s house to see what he was doing. Birbal had lit the fire and kept the pot of uncooked khichdi one metre away from it. Akbar questioned him “How will the khichdi get cooked with the fire one metre away? What is wrong with you Birbal?”
Birbal replied “Oh my great King of Hindustan! When it was possible for a person to receive warmth from a light that was a kilometre away, then it is possible for this khichdi, which is just a metre away from the source of heat, to get cooked.” Akbar understood his mistake. He called the poor brahmin and rewarded him 2000 gold coins.

One day Emperor Akbar was inspecting the law and order situation in the kingdom.One of his ministers, who was jealous of Raja Birbal,

complained that the Emperor gave importance only to Birbal’s suggestions and all the other ministers were ignored. Akbar wanted the minister to know how wise Birbal was.
There was a marriage procession going on. The Emperor ordered the minister to enquire whose marriage it was. The minister found out and walked towards the Emperor wearing a proud expression on his face. Then the king called Birbal and asked him too to enquire whose marriage was going on. When Birbal returned, Akbar asked the minister “Where are the couple going?” The minister said that the king had only asked him to enquire whose marriage was going on. Then Akbar asked Birbal the same question. “O My Majesty! They are going to the city of Allahabad,” replied Raja Birbal. Now the King turned towards the minister and said, “Now do you understand why Birbal is more important to me? It is not enough if you complete a task. You have to use your intelligence to do a little more work.’ The minister’s face fell. He had learnt the importance of being Birbal, the hard way.

Once King Akbar questioned Raja Birbal if he knows the number of blind citizens of their kingdom.

Raja Birbal had requested Akbar to give him a week’s time. The next day Raja Birbal was found to be mending shoes in the town market. People were astonished to see Birbal doing such work. Many of them started to question “Birbal!! What are you doing?” Once when he was asked this question by someone he started writing something. It continued for a week when on the 7th day King Akbar himself asked Birbal the same question. Giving him no answer, Birbal reported at the court the next day and handed over a note to King Akbar. Akbar read the note when he found that it was the big list of people who were blind. Emperor Akbar was stunned when he found his own name in the list. Angered by this, Akbar asked Birbal the reason for writing his name in the list. Birbal said “O! My majesty! Like all other people you also saw me mending the slippers but you still asked me what I was doing. Therefore I had to include your name too.” Akbar started laughing at this and everyone enjoyed Birbal’s sense of humour.

He was talking about the Solar System and the Earth’s shape.
At one point Akbar said, “If the earth is round, and if one travel strait towards one direction, he will come back to the same spot from where he has started the journey.”
“Theoretically it is correct”, said the astrologer.
“Why not in real life?”, asked the king.
“One has to cross oceans, mountains and forests to keep the path straight.” the astrologer said.
“Sail through the oceans, make tunnels in the mountains and use elephants to cross the forests.” Akbar found the solution.
“Still it is impossible” said the astrologer.
“Why?” Asked Akbar.
“It may take years to complete the whole journey” said the astrologer
“Years? How many?” asked Akbar.
“I don’t know. May be a hundred years or more” said the astrologer
“Don’t worry I will ask my ministers. They have an answer for everything” Akbar looked at the ministers.
“Impossible to calculate”
“Around 25 years”
“Fifty years or less”
“80 days”
“Why Birbal, you haven’t uttered a word” the king showed his surprise at Birbal’s silence.
“I was just calculating the time required to go round the earth” explained Birbal.
“And did you get the answer?” asked the king.
“Sure.” Said Birbal “It will take just one day.”
“Just one day! Birbal it is Impossible! Even it will take more than one day to cross our country.” Said Akbar.
“It is possible. Provided you travel at the speed of the Sun” said Birbal with a smile.

Birbal was one of the nine gems in the court of emperor Akbar.

He was respected by everyone for his intelligence and wit. Whenever Akbar was in difficulty, he called Birbal for help.
Akbar was very fond of jewellery. He had many rings of gold, pearls and diamonds. His favourite ring was the one with a large diamond at the centre and pearls around.
At the emperor’s palace, there were eight servants who looked after his clothes and jewellery. They also helped him get ready to go to the court. No one else was allowed to enter his room.
One day, the Emperor wanted to wear his favourite ring. But it was missing. Akbar ordered a search for the ring. But no one could find it.
Akbar then asked his men to call Birbal. When Birbal came, he told him about the robbery and asked for help. Birbal called all the eight servants who were in charge of the Emperor’s room.
He gave each of them a stick of the same size and asked them to come back with it the next day. He told them that the stick of the person who had stolen the ring would become longer by one inch that night.
The next morning, the eight servants stood in a line with their sticks. Birbal caught hold of one of them and took him to Akbar.
The man fell at Akbar’s feet and admitted that he had stolen the ring.
The king was surprised. He asked Birbal how he found out the culprit. Birbal said the thief had cut his stick by an inch fearing that it would grow.

Mahesh Das was a citizen in Akbar’ kingdom. He was an intelligent young man. Once when Akbar went hunting in the jungle, he lost his way. Mahesh Das who lived in the outskirts helped the king reach the palace. The emperor rewarded him with his ring.
The Emperor also promised to give him a responsible posting at his court. After a few days Mahesh Das went to the court. The guard did not allow him to enter. Mahesh Das showed the guard the ring which the king had given him. Now the guard thought that the young man was sure to get more rewards by the king. The greedy guard agreed to allow him inside the court on one condition. It was that Mahesh Das had to pay him half the reward he would get from the Emperor. Mahesh Das accepted the condition. He then entered the court and showed the ring to the King. The King who recognized Mahesh asked him “Oh young man! What do you expect as a reward from the King of Hindustan?” “Majesty! I expect 50 lashes from you as a reward.” replied Mahesh Das. The courtiers were stunned. They thought that he was mad. Akbar pondered over his request and asked him the reason. Mahesh Das said he would tell him the reason after receiving his reward. Then the king’s men whipped him as per his wish. After the 25th lash Mahesh Das requested the King to call the guard who was at the gate. The guard appeared before the King. He was happy at the thought that he was called to be rewarded. But to his surprise, Mahesh Das told the King ,”Jahampana! This greedy guard let me inside on condition that I pay him half the reward I receive from you. I wanted to teach him a lesson. Please give the remaining 25 lashes to this guard so that I can keep my promise to him.”
The King then ordered that the guard be given 25 lashes along with 5 years of imprisonment. The King was very happy with Mahesh Das. He called him ‘RAJA BIRBAL’ and made him his chief minister.

On a cold winter day Akbar and Birbal took a walk along the lake.

A thought came to Birbal that a man would do anything for money. He expressed his feelings to Akbar. Akbar then put his finger into the lake and immediately removed it because he shivered with cold.

Akbar said “I don’t think a man would spend an entire night in the cold water of this lake for money.”

Birbal replied “I am sure I can find such a person.”

Akbar then challenged Birbal into finding such a person and said that he would reward the person with a thousand gold coins. Birbal searched far and wide until he found a poor man who was desperate enough to accept the challenge. The poor man entered the lake and Akbar had guards posted near him to make sure that he really did as promised.The next morning the guards took the poor man to Akbar. Akbar asked the poor man if he had indeed spent the night in the lake. The poor man replied that he had. Akbar then asked the poor man how he managed to spend the night in the lake. The poor man replied that there was a street lamp near by and he kept his attention affixed on the lamp and away from the cold. Akbar then said that there would be no reward as the poor man had survived the night in the lake by the warmth of the street lamp. The poor man went to Birbal for help.

The next day, Birbal did not go to court. The king wondering where he was sent a messenger to his home. The messenger came back saying that Birbal would come once his Khichri was cooked. The king waited hours but Birbal did not come. Finally the king decided to go to Birbal’s house and see what he was upto. He found Birbal sitting on the floor near some burning twigs and a bowl filled with Khichri hanging five feet above the fire. The king and his attendants couldn’t help but laugh.

Akbar then said to Birbal “How can the Khichri be cooked if it so far away from the fire?”

Birbal answered “The same way the poor man received heat from a street lamp that was more than a furlong away.”

The King understood his mistake and gave the poor man his reward.

There was a Mogul Emperor in India, Akbar the Great (1542-1605). His full name was Jalaludden Mohammed Akbar Padshah Ghazi and he ruled India from 1560 to 1605. He himself was illiterate, but he invited several learned people in his court. Among these people, nine were very famous and were called “Nav Ratna” (nine jewels of the Mogul Crown) of his court. Among these nine jewels, five people were more famous – Tansen, Todarmal, Abul Fazal, Maan Singh and Birbal.

1. Tansen for his singing art,
2. Dasvant – a great painter
3. King Todarmal was a financial wizard,
4. Abdu us-Samad – a brilliant calligrapher and designer of Imperil coins
5. Abul Fazal was a great historian whose brother
6. Faizi was a great poet,
7. Mir Fareh-ullah Shirazi – financier, philosopher, physician and astronomer,
8. King Maan Singh for his chivalry, and
9. Birbal for his valuable advice.

Akbar’s son Prince Sultan Salim, later known as Jehangir (pronounced as Jahaangeer), wrote that nobody could make out that Akbar was an illiterate. Akbar was a very hard-working King. It is also said about him that he slept only three hours a night.

Birbal (1528-1583) is surely one of the most popular figures in Indian history equally regarded by adults and children. Birbal’s duties in Akbar’s court were mostly administrative and military but he was a very close friend of Akbar too, because Akbar loved his wisdom, wit, and subtle humor. He was a minister in the administration of Mogul Emperor Akbar and one of the members of inner council of nine advisors. He was a poet and an author too.

It is believed that he was a son of poor Braahman of Trivikrampur (now known as Tikavanpur) on the banks of River Yamuna. According to a popular legend he died on an expedition to Afghanistan at the head of a large military force due to treachery. It is also said that when Birbal died, Akbar mourned him for several months.

The exchanges between Akbar and Birbal have been recorded in many volumes. Many of these have become folk stories in Indian tradition. Birbal’s collection of poetry published under the pen name “Brahm” are preserved in Bharatpur Museum, Rajsthan, India.

Many courtiers were jealous with Birbal and often plotted for his downfall. There are many stories found on this issue too. There are a couple of other stories too which are of the same time and type and are as interesting as Birbal’s ones.

हज़ार जूते Akbar Birbal jokes in Hindi Irrshad hai.

अकबर (Akbar) बाद्शाह को ठ्ट्ठेबाजी का बहुत शौक था और देबयोग से बीरबल (Birbal) भी बडा  ठ्ट्ठेबाज़ था। एक बार बाद्शाह ने हँसी  मे बीरबल के जुते उठ्वा लिए। चलते-चलते बीरबल जूते ढूंढ्ने लगे। जब जूते न मिला तो अकबर ने सेवक से कहा कि अच्छा हमारी ओर से इन को जूते दे दो। यह सुन सेवक ने जूते पहना दिया।

बीरबल ने जूते पहन कर आर्शीवाद दिया कि परमेश्वर आप को इस लोक और परलोक ने ऐसे हज़ारो जुते दे। सुनते ही अकबर खिलखिला कर हँस पडे।

गधे तम्बाकू नही खाते

बीरबल को तम्बाकू खाने की आदत थी लेकिन अकबर (Akbar) न खाते थे एक दिन अकबर ने तम्बाकू के  खेत मे गधे को घास खाते देखकर कहा बीरबल ये देखा तम्बाकू कैसी बुरी चीज है, गधे तक इस को नही खाते ।

इस पर बीरबल (Birbal) ने कहा- हाँ हुजुर सच है । गधे तम्बाकू नही खाते । यह सुन बाद्शाह शर्मिन्दा हुऐ।

अकल की दाद

एक दिन बाद्शाह अकबर ने कागज़ पर पैन्सिल् से एक लम्बी लकीर खीची और बीरबल को बुला कर कहा- बीरबल न तो यह लकीर घटाई जाए और न ही मिटाई जाए लेकिन छोटी हो जाए? बीरबल (Birbal) ने फौरन उस लकीर के नीचे एक दुसरी लकीर पैंसिल से बडी खीच दी । यह देखिए जहांपना ! बीरबल बोले- अब आप की लाकीर इस से छोटी हो गयी। बादशाह यह देखकर खुश हुए और मन ही मन उन की अकल की दाद देने लगे।

हर वक्‍त कौन चलता है

एक दिन बाद्शाह ने दरबारियों से पूछा कि हर समय कौन चलता है उत्तर मे किसी ने पृथ्वी,  किसी ने चन्द्रमा को बताया तथा किसी ने हवा आदि को बताया ।

बादशाह ने यह प्रश्‍न बीरबल (Birbal) से पूछा तो उन्होने उत्तर दिया की अली जहां ! महाजन का ब्याज हर समय चलता रह्ता है इसे कभी थकावट नही होती। दिन दुगनी और रात चौगुनी वेग से चलता है । बाद्शाह को यह उत्तर पसंद आया।

छेड छाड

अकबर (Akbar) बादशाह और बीरबल मे अकसर मज़ाक होता रहता था । उस दिन वे दोनो एक दुसरे से छेड-छाड कर रहे थे ।

बाद्शाह ने कहा- बीरबल (Birbal)तुम्हारी स्त्री अत्यन्त सुन्दर है । बीरबल ने कहा – हां सरकार! पहले मै भी ऐसा ही समझता था। पर जब से बेगम साहिबा को देखा है, मै अपनी स्त्री को ही भूल बैठा हूँ ।

बाद्शाह एकाएक झेंप गए और उस दिन के बाद से फिर उन्होने ऐसा मज़ाक नही किया ।

आपकी बारी कैसे आती?

बाद्शाह ने बीरबल(Birbal) से कहा, जो बादशाह होता वह सदैव ही शासन करता रहता तो कैसा अच्छा होता?

बीरबल ने तत्काल स्वाभाविक नम्रता पूर्ण उत्तर दिया, जहांपनाह! आपका कहना बिलकुल उचित है किन्तु यदि ऐसा होता तो भला सोचिए कि आप बादशाह कैसे होते? बाद्शाह बीरबल के व्यंग को समझ चुप हो गए।

हाँ मिहरबान

एक दिन बादशाह बीरबल(Birbal) से बोले, ’ जिन लोगो के नाम के अन्त मे या उनकी पदवी के आखिर मे वान शब्द होता है, वो बडे ही झगडालू होते हैं। जैसे एक्केवान, गाडीवान, पीलवान और दरबान इत्यादि।

बीरबल ने स्वीकृति मे कहा, हाँ मिहरबान! बाद्शाह झेंप गए, क्योकि बीरबल ने उनकी भी उन सबों की कोटी मे ही गणना की

Mumbai: The crew of ‘Don 2′ get talking to CNN-IBN about the making of the movie. They also share funny experiences on set and how the lead character Don’s catchy dialogues were created.

‘Don 2′ is set to release on December 23, and the cast and crew of the movie are upbeat about this sequel.

Here’s the full transcript of the interview:

CNN-IBN: Whoever said “Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai” got it all wrong. Here I am standing outside Shah Rukh Khan’s vanity van and I am going make impossible possible for you. So Come lets go and chat with cast and crew of ‘Don 2’. Come along

Farhan you have kept the audience for waiting for five long years. What took you so long to make ‘Don 2’?

Farhan Akhtar : I wanted to test their patience, that’s very important. But no, you need to find right story and you need to get excited by the right idea. When that came along, we decided to go ahead and do it. It could have possibly happened a year earlier but I think Shah Rukh had a shoulder injury. So it got delayed, but ya just wait for the right idea and right story.

CNN-IBN: We love your attitude and style in the film, what with the long hair braided. Of course the hair, the stuble, the smoke and the trademark glasses, the women are also loving it. So personally did you have fun spotting the long haired look?

Shah Rukh Khan : Ya. The nicest part of my long healthy hair is that you can lie on a girl’s lap, and tickle her nose with your hair. That’s the quirk I have, that’s really nice, its something that I always wanted to do.

Priyanka Chopra : How romantic? Tickle her nose with my hair. So Romantic.

Shah Rukh Khan : While lying in a girl’s lap that’s something I have done repeatedly in ‘Don 2’. Repeatedly in this film Don keeps doing this. Whenever he is disturbed, angry emotionally, he feels highly strong about this.

And otherwise I really enjoyed it because you know I would just like to mention from ‘Don 1’ the last twenty minutes of the film, the last four or five minutes of the film, is what actually Farhan has written originally, you know trying to keep film straight. And I think that is really the most exciting part of the remake we did. That is the most original and most exciting and most unexpected

Priyanka Chopra : People didn’t expected

Shah Rukh Khan : Farhan was very keen that in the first part of the film, when I am sure I have a different look because I must have escaped and kind of laid low and whatever. And than we tried some looks and send some pictures to him in Malaysia. We drove down from the airport about an hour and half and I was like little worried, you know how would turn out. And it was very scratchy, Priyanka scratched my hair through out the drive. You know I had to take a pen and keep on scratching and scratching that is the only problem with that long hair, otherwise it’s nice. And the girls kept calling me saying “can you please tickle our nose with your pony tail.”

Priyanka Chopra : Tickle her

CNN-IBN: I had long hair

Priyanka Chopra : No tickle her

Shah Rukh Khan : No not from your pony but my pony tail. Is it good?

CNN-IBN: I think I am scared, Ok sorry even.

Shah Rukh Khan : Now, you cannot escape from my charm, I will come in your dreams.

CNN-IBN: Ok a lot is been spoken about action in ‘Don 2’. You have gone to exotic locations and does even there was a sequence in Berlin, where you jumped off a very tall building. Is that true?

Shah Rukh Khan : Aaa Yes

Priyanka Chopra : It is true

Shah Rukh Khan : Ya, it is true that I did jumped off. But I said I won’t until Farhan showed me and he did. So I was little kind of scares, it was my first day, it was cold. So there was this shot they showed me how my whole body has to be horizontal like parallel to the ground. And I was showing it to Farhan which was only about half-a-foot and I had to this for four-hundred-feet jump. So I was just showing at the height of half-a-foot and I had slipped and fallen on my face, ‘fichh’ like that and everybody including the fight master who was told that Shah Rukh is really good with this, he’s like ‘aaah’. He was holding me from my back and I slipped like this ‘aahh’. It was most embarrassing fall.

Farhan Akhtar : It was funny, really funny because his harness was in the middle of his back right and that harness was there so that if he should fall, he should not touch the ground. So he was swinging above two inches of the ground.

CNN-IBN: Farhan was it difficult for you to actually don the director’s hat after five years, after you know you been used to being on-screen now?

Farhan Akhtar : No, no really I really didn’t feel that the break has been this long to start with. And again it was we were in familiar territory, in terms of working with the same lot of people that I just worked on as a director before, the same characters, of course evolved, but the same characters. I mean it felt very comfortable to get back into the same film and to the same level. And do it again and I didn’t miss it, I didn’t miss it, it didn’t feel that long to be missed.

CNN-IBN: You have a lot of action sequences in the film as well?

Priyanka Chopra : Well I play a cop in the movie and I won’t say I have lot of action.

Farhan Akhtar : But you have more action in this film you have did in first film.

Shah Rukh Khan : Ya ya

Priyanka Chopra : Ya I do have

Shah Rukh Khan : That was the only one fight in the train.

Priyanka Chopra : Ya

Farhan Akhtar : Ya that was only

Shah Rukh Khan : This one you have a lot of fights.

Priyanka Chopra : Ya in this one I have action that’s beat up really, its very exciting . I was very excited.

Farhan Akhtar : Do you remember that fight when Shah Rukh was telling you that it is very important that you scream? So when you hit like ‘haah’ you know so that you get that power.

Priyanka Chopra : You know I do that but with girl’s its shrill.

CNN-IBN: It sounds more like a cat.

Shah Rukh Khan : Wild cat, Junglee Billi.

Priyanka Chopra : Ya I was trying very hard to make it sound really tough.

Shah Rukh Khan : Now it was really difficult for the guy she is beating up because he would start laughing.

Priyanka Chopra : I was really get scared to hit because you know you suppose to act like hitting and I don’t know how to do that because I am not used to do that. So, both of them tried to teach me how to do that.

Shah Rukh Khan : Show that it to Piya, show that, come on hit on me.

CNN-IBN: Oh I got nervous, not on me.

Priyanka Chopra : Hit SRK.

Shah Rukh Khan : Come on hit once again .

Shah Rukh Khan : Sir bahut sharif sa lagta hai call me DON.

Jaspal Bhatti was born on 3rd march 1955 at Amritsar into a Sikh family. He graduated from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in Punjab, as an electrical engineer. He was famous for his street plays like his Nonsense Club during his college days. Most of these plays were spoofs ridiculing corruption in society. Before venturing out into television, he was a cartoonist for the The Tribune newspaper in Chandigarh.

He married Savita Bhatti on 24 March 1985. In the 1990s, he pioneered the home-made comedy on Indian Hindi TV channel Doordarshan.

Flop show

His low budget Flop Show show in the early 1990s is remembered even today.His wife Savita Bhatti produced the show and also acted in all the episodes as his wife. Only 10 episodes of the show were ever produced, but the show has had a long and powerful legacy and is well-remembered. One of his co-actors Vivek Shauq has been very successful since his stint in Flop Show, having found a footing in Hindi cinema.

Subsequent work

Bhatti’s subsequently acted and directed the popular TV series “Ulta Pulta” and “Nonsense Private Limited” for the Doordarshan television network. What attracted audience to his shows was his gift of inducing humour to highlight every day issues of the middle class in India. Bhatti’s satire on the Punjab Police Mahaul Theek Hai (1999) was his first directorial venture for a full length feature film in his native Punjabi language. The movie was well received amongst audience for its simple and honest humour. He played the role of Jolly Good Singh, a guard, in the movie Fanaa. He also acted as a comical college principal in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. He also starred in the comedy punjabi film Jijaji.

Bhatti also appeared in SAB TV’s “Comedy ka King Kaun” as a Judge,with actress Divya Dutta. In his latest stint, Jaspal Bhatti along with wife Savita competed in popular Star Plus show – Nach Baliye which went on air in October 2008.The couple put their best foot forward to entertain the audiences with their dancing as well as comic skills.The cartoonist, humorist, actor and the filmmaker is now focusing on acting as he is getting numerous offers from Bollywood producers as a comedian.Jaspal Bhatti has now set up and is busy with a training school and studio in Mohali near Chandigarh rightly called “joke factory” which is popular and quite sought after.

Alas all her hard work soon starts causing jealousy when Sophie (Helen) a night club dancer starts flirting with him. Mehmood had an elder sister and six younger siblings. His sister, Minoo Mumtaz, was also a successful dancer and character actress in Bollywood movies. He started acting reluctantly as a child in Bombay talkie films like Kismet. Some of his early jobs before he concentrated only on acting were driving, doing odd jobs, and selling poultry. He worked as director P. L. Santoshi’s driver. Later, Santoshi’s son Rajkumar Santoshi cast Mehmood in his venture Andaz Apna Apna.

He was hired to teach table tennis to Meena Kumari in those days. He later married her sister Madhu. After getting married and becoming a father, he decided to act to earn a better living. He got a small break as a murder victim in the film C.I.D.. He started off by doing small unnoticed roles in films like Do Bigha Zameen and Pyaasa. He later went on to act in lead roles, but he was appreciated for his comedy, some of which was in the Hyderabad region Urdu accent.

His first break as both a director and an actor was Bhoot Bangla with Actress Tanuja. The movie paved the way for Mehmood to succeed Johnny Walker as the most successful Bollywood comedian. He followed his successes with superhit comic roles in films like Padosan (As a Tamil Brahmin Music Teacher- one of his greatest roles), Love in Tokyo, Aankhen, Bombay to Goa and Pyaar Kiye Jaa. He also became a sterling director of Hindi films—Kunwara Baap being a prime example.

Mehmood was riding on his success from 1965 to 1985 when he was considered one of the more successful movie artists. Amitabh Bachchan was a tenant for 11 months at the Mehmood Outhouse from 1967–1968 and again from 1972-1973 (4 Months). Mehmood acted and directed Bombay to Goa in which Amitabh was lead actor.

However from 1985- Mehmood began to decline because of the new trend in which lead actors were given substantial amount of role in which comedy was part of it. Other character actors like Anupam Kher, Jagdeep and Johnny Lever were also successful. Mehmood like all other contemporaries had not made wise investments and his financial prosperity began to decline. He made a handful of movies from 1989 to 1999 but most of them were either shelved or made no impression. He acted as Johny in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna that was his last hit film as an actor.

He died in his sleep on 23 July 2004 in Pennsylvania, US, where he had gone for treatment of heart disease after suffering poor health for several years. His fans were able to pay homage to him at Mehboob Studio in Bandra, Mumbai, India.

Hilarious Fevicol ” Permanent Mooch” Ad :Funny Memorable ‘Moochwali’ Fevicols 50th Anniversary Ad — The commercial shows the life journey of a young girl, who is shown getting dressed up by her family for a skit in their courtyard.

She is laying a male character, and is therefore, provided with the mandatory fake mustache to complete the look. From hereon, the girl is shown sporting the mustache, for the rest of her life. The inference, of course, is that the mustache was stuck on her face with the help of a little dab of Fevicol. So whether it is at her school, where her teacher is mildly shocked at her appearance, or at a distribution ceremony in her village, or even when she has grown older and poses in a studio for a picture with a cut-out male character (the photographer promptly interchanges the male cut-out with a female cut-out character, after seeing her mustache), she always sports the mustache. She is shown in various stages of her life; as a newly married bride, an eager mother, a middle aged woman, one nearing old age and the last, finally, on her death bed, all the while, sporting the mustache. Towards the end, as she breathes her last, the camera pans to show a nearby cubicle where a baby has just been born, albeit with a mustache, as a gesture towards the concept of reincarnation. Interesting Facts About The Great Dictator :

• Charlie Chaplin lost a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest, but is still mistaken for Hitler. He looks more like Hitler than himself.
• Charles Chaplin got the idea when a friend, Alexander Korda, noted that his screen persona and Adolf Hitler looked somewhat similar. Chaplin later learned they were both born within a week of each other, were roughly the same height and weight and both struggled in poverty until they reached great success in their respective fields. When Chaplin learned of Hitler’s policies of racial oppression and nationalist aggression, he used their similarities as an inspiration to attack Hitler on film.
• Charles Chaplin said that had he known the true extent of Nazi atrocities, he “could not have made fun of their homicidal insanity”.
• Production on the film started in 1937, when not nearly as many people believed Nazism was a menace as was the case when it was released in 1940. However, this film was ultimately upstaged as the first anti-Nazi film satire by The Three Stooges production, You Nazty Spy! which was released nine months earlier.
• When this film was released, Adolf Hitler banned it in Germany and in all countries occupied by the Nazis. Curiosity eventually got the best of him and he had a print brought in through Portugal. He screened it not once but twice. Unfortunately, history did not record his reaction to the film. When told of this, Charles Chaplin said, “I’d give anything to know what he thought of it.”
• Although this movie was banned in all occupied countries by the Nazis, it was screened once to a German audience. In the occupied Balkans, members of a resistance group switched the reels in a military cinema and replaced a comedic opera with a copy of this film, which they had smuggled in from Greece. So a group of German soldiers enjoyed a screening of this film until they realized what it was. Some left the cinema and some were reported to have fired shots at the screen.
• This was the last movie in which Charles Chaplin used the “Tramp” outfit – the bowler hat and the walking cane – but although he appears to be playing The Tramp once again, that character had actually been retired in his previous film, Modern Times. Chaplin was said not to consider this movie a “Tramp” film.
• Released 13 years after the end of the silent era, this was Charles Chaplin’s first all-talking, all-sound film.
• According to documentaries on the making of the film, Charles Chaplin began to feel more uncomfortable lampooning Adolf Hitler the more he heard of Hitler’s actions in Europe. Ultimately, the invasion of France inspired Chaplin to change the ending of his film to include his famous speech. ( Imdb)

Storyline

Twenty years after the end of WWI in which the nation of Tomainia was on the losing side, Adenoid Hynkel has risen to power as the ruthless dictator of the country. He believes in a pure Aryan state, and the decimation of the Jews. This situation is unknown to a simple Jewish-Tomainian barber who has since been hospitalized the result of a WWI battle. Upon his release, the barber, who had been suffering from memory loss about the war, is shown the new persecuted life of the Jews by many living in the Jewish ghetto, including a washerwoman named Hannah, with whom he begins a relationship. The barber is ultimately spared such persecution by Commander Schultz, who he saved in that WWI battle. The lives of all Jews in Tomainia are eventually spared with a policy shift by Hynkel himself, who is doing so for ulterior motives. But those motives include a want for world domination, starting with the invasion of neighboring Osterlich (Imdb)
